Full mouth dental implants are the more costly option when it comes to mouth restorations but they are also the more secure and stable and aesthetically pleasing option. They are also healthier for your mouth as they help prevent jaw bone deterioration.

How much does one dental implant cost?

When pricing implants, it is important to remember that there are three components to one tooth restoration. The actual implant surgery can cost between $1,000 and $3,000. After the implant is placed, your dentist will restore the area with an abutment and an implant crown. The abutment and crown can run between $500 and $4,000 bringing your total to a range of $1,500 and $7,000.

What about the cost of multiple dental implants?

As you would probably imagine, having multiple implants placed will only cost more. Though if you are having multiple teeth replaced in one area, your dentist may suggest that you have an implant-supported bridge. This would allow you to have a few implants placed but not have an individual tooth on each implant.

Full mouth dental implants, like implant-supported dentures, can cost up to $90,000 for both the upper and lower arches. Implant-supported dentures are much more stable and aesthetically pleasing than traditional dentures. Traditional dentures use adhesion and suction to stay in place whereas implant-supported dentures are actually screwed onto the implant and cannot slip while the patient is speaking or eating.

What affects the cost of full mouth dental implants?

There are a lot of factors that play for patients considering full mouth dental implants. Before any treatment is started, your dentist will take x-rays and CT scans to see the jaw bone, and any remaining teeth, to make sure that there is good bone structure that is healthy enough to receive implants. your x-rays and scans can cost up to $500.

If you have a significant number of teeth missing but still have a few remaining on one arch, you will need extraction surgery for those remaining teeth. Extractions can cost between $75 and $600 each.

If your bone structure is not dense and healthy enough to receive an implant, you may require a bone graft. I burn graft users either cadaver bone that had been previously harvested or They can harvest down from the patient. If cadaver bone is used, the surgery costs between $250 or $1,100. If the bone is harvested from the patient, the cost ranges between $2,000 and $3,000.

One more factor is the cost of the material. While implants are usually made from titanium, the crown can be made from porcelain or zirconia. Your dentist will know which material is best for your individual case.
